Why go All-In?

The Exclusive Metal Pin is just the start!

We’ve kept a few secrets that we will unlock as the Kickstarter campaign grows. Those backers at the All-In level will see the value grow every time we reveal a physical add-on. So secure your LEGACY now (hint, hint).

What are the Campaign Books?

The four Campaign Books contain expanded faction-specific information, a new class, a new Warlord (think Generals), and 20+ one-page missions that can be run individually, or combined in several ways to create short (or long) campaigns. If you have ever seen the excellent Mecha Hack Mission Manual, you’ll have an idea of how these missions will look.

Each mission will have multiple tables for creating random issues, broken down into opening sequence, action sequence, and finale. This design method will carry through to the campaigns as well, with your squad running through the opening of the war to the fight to end all fights.

There will also be a mini-campaign for each subfaction, tied deeply into the campaign of the related major faction.

Multiple phases of play? What do you mean?

This is a World War! As such, political machinations, diplomacy, and espionage can shape the front lines just as permanently as artillery shells. Players will regularly engage in short, discussion-based play where the GM represents a delegate or leader of a rival faction. Do you make demands, or extend a hand?

Before each mission, players will act as Generals in the war room, making grand scale decisions, requisitioning equipment, and learning devastating new tactics that can be called upon in the likely event that you are outnumbered or outgunned. Just remember, there’s no fighting in the war room.

Is the art final?

None of the art is final! In fact, we have been far more focused on worldbuilding and mechanisms, to create as dark and gritty a World War Mork Borg as possible.

Specifically, the character and squad sheets are VERY far from complete, and we hope to get you more accurate representations of the final products during the campaign.

The cover art by Johan Nohr is mostly finalized, but some of you may have noticed that the colors have changed. This reflects our design decisions for the inside of the book, as SLAGG will be electric blue in all contexts.

Brian Yaksha was just today making improvements to the art for the Campaign Books, so expect a nearer to final version of that art sometime soon.

How do I pledge for add-ons?

You can add any amount to ANY pledge level and the overage will be included in your balance during the pledge manager. There you will be able to add any items you like, upgrade your pledge, buy more copies of the core book, etc. You may choose the add-ons you want during the Kickstarter campaign, as well now.

As an example, you might choose the $35 core book pledge during the Kickstarter, pledge an additional $25 there, and upgrade your pledge to the All-In level during the pledge manager, leaving a balance of $60 owed, plus shipping.

How much for shipping?

If only we knew! But we do have a good idea. Shipping will be charged when the print run has been delivered, and we are ready to ship. We are working to secure fulfillment partners in a few international areas to mitigate shipping prices.

As of right now, US backers can expect to pay $7ish for shipping at the ALL-IN level, while that number is more like $25 for UK and EU backers, plus any VAT paid on your end. But that WILL change if we can find a reliable fulfillment center in those locations.

Is this project related to Forbidden Psalm: The Last War?

Farewell to Arms REDUX is NOT AFFILIATED with The Last War in any way. That project is a squad-based miniatures game, and likely a very good one. Our project is a complete hack of Mork Borg, and thus is a “traditional” pen-and-paper RPG.

When we reference your squad, we are including your fellow PCs and any NPCs you might have opted to bring into the mission. You will be making individual choices on the battlefield. You will ALSO be making decisions as a squad prior to each mission, with resource management and requisitions costs and maintenance, as well as the desires of your leaders and generals, defining your edge (or lack thereof) in the war.

rivethead games?

rivethead games is the publishing company founded by Tyler Lindsey and Josh Dunham as their business entity for all future projects. While rivethead games has not run or backed anything on Kickstarter, Josh and Tyler have run a combined 5 projects, and backed over 100 games on this platform.

You may know Josh from “Nativity in Black”, “Too Fast to Live, Too Young to Die”, or the soon to be shipped “Time Scape”. He is also the creator of Solo Orbits, which will help in designing the solo rules for Farewell to Arms REDUX.

Tyler is the creator of USING DEAD THINGS, which added crafting and animal husbandry to Mork Borg, and All Things Fragrant and Foul, which will be shipping later this month.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
