Day 19: Darkest Before the Dawn
4 days ago – Tue, May 14, 2024 at 01:00:12 PM

Hey, grvnts!

We just wanted to let you know that writing is wrapped on the campaign books and we are compiling and editing them. We anticipate having all four done in the next couple weeks. If you ordered the physical or PDF copies, watch for them to drop individually as they are completed.

If you didn't order the campaign books, we understand that the delays they have caused can be frustrating, so we will be sending a PDF of the Beggars of Death campaign to all backers as a "thank you/we're sorry".

The final pass edit of the core book is moving forward, printing and shipping are getting put in order, and we're so close to you having these books in your hands. We humbly ask for just a few weeks more of your patience as we finalize this massive project, and begin the process of distributing it worldwide.

Thank you all!

Day 18: Alone in the Mörk
about 1 month ago – Mon, Apr 08, 2024 at 12:19:18 PM

Happy Eclipse Day to all who celebrate!

Now that our retinas are satisfactorily singed, we wanted to take a moment for a quick update on a few things.

First, the campaign books are still being worked on, getting closer to edit-ready every day.

Second, the last edit of the core book is in process and should be complete soon. This will lead to a final pass of all art, layout, and text in the core book, which we are anticipating will not take TOO terribly long. But we want to reiterate that we only get one shot to make sure everything is the best it can be before print. We appreciate your patience and words of encouragement and understanding when it comes to our desire to deliver a (hopefully) flawless product.

Third, the pre-press version of the solo rules, titled "Alone in the Mörk", should be in your inboxes right now! This is as close as we could get to having the Farewell to Arms REDUX experience on your own, and within the confines of a trifold pamphlet. Give it a play and let us know what you think.

Finally, does anybody know a good eye doctor in the Dallas area?

Thank you all!

Day 17: Documenting the Atrocities
2 months ago – Mon, Mar 04, 2024 at 08:51:24 PM

Hey grvnts!

We wanted to give you a full accounting of what is left to be done to get Farewell off to the printers and into your hands as fast a possible.

The first pass of the professional edit of the core book is done and awaiting our revisions. This is a pretty long book, with a vast amount of content, so going through the edit is a time-consuming process. The plan is to get through it all over the next couple of weeks. Then it will be sent back to the editor for a last pass, and we'll finalize as we make art, layout, and color corrections before going to print.

The postcard art is done, and layout is pending final edits of their content.

Map art is nearly done, with no foreseeable delays. Pretty straightforward, really.

The metal pin design is nearly complete, but will likely require multiple revisions with the manufacturer. Those revisions will be completed while the paper products are being printed.

The box design is awaiting final size and manufacturing specs. But that should be quick to finalize once the numbers are all in place.

The character sheets have been a real nuisance for the both of us as a design problem. We are actively looking for someone to take those on, so if you have any suggestions, please hit us up here or on discord or email.

Solo rules are on FIRE right now, and we wanted to give you a preview of those. We hope to send the pdf out sometime over the next week. Here's the outside of the pamphlet:

Which brings us to the bane of our existence at the moment: the campaign books. We have been absolutely immersed in this project for about a year and a half now, and we are honestly a little creatively spent on World War Mork Borg. But we continue to plug along, slowly, to be sure, and are about halfway done. Not to make any excuses, but we are tasked with generating 432 unique occurrences over 4 books, plus another 288 twists. It's actually a little daunting, but we made that promise, and we are dedicated to giving you the best possible content. That's why we've actually onboarded two more writers to help generate some ideas and spruce up the ones we've already had.

We want to be able to say these books will be done by the end of March. We really intend for them to be. But, truthfully, we intended them to be done in February. All we can say definitively is that we are working very hard to get them done.

We know how frustrating the wait for Farewell to FINALLY be done can be. We feel it, too. We are working with the manufacturer to add some unique stuff to the book, and continue to find ways every day to maximize the quality and depth of the content therein.

So, thank you. Really. Truly. We have enjoyed so much the ability to create this world for all of you. And when it's finally done, we can't wait to share it with you.

Speaking of which, here's another little thing you might have been wondering and asking about. The VEX rising "calendar"! Every mission, with every chunk of SLAGG expended, VEX draws nearer to their cataclysmic recompense.

Day 16: Search and Destroy
4 months ago – Thu, Jan 25, 2024 at 12:33:38 PM

We hope you all are enjoying your Xmas gift! We got a lot of folks eager to share their thoughts and opinions on the pre-press version of the book that released last month! That is awesome! We're glad to see the overwhelming positive feedback and love outpouring from our community.

That being said, we are beginning our next phase: editing! It's time to weed out all those pesky typos and mizpellings. For that we brought on Zack from Bammax games. Some of you may already know him from TikTok! Zack boasts an impressive Triple Entente skillset of writing, editing, and designing both in the TTRPG space and in the professional business world. We are extremely delighted to have him enlisted in this fight!

What's more is we have the reveal of the 4 sub-faction postcards that you all unlocked by following us on social media! Tyler did an amazing job knocking these out of the park, and so now we want to show them to you:

We also want to say thank you to all who continue to support us and have been patient with the process thus far! We're excited to show more to you as soon as it's ready!

Happy Xmas! (War is Just Starting)

Happy holidays to all, and thank you for patiently waiting for this moment. We'll cut straight to the chase: you can now read Farewell to Arms REDUX.

Both Tyler and Josh pulled many long hours and many late nights to make this possible - and it paid off! While this is just a pre-press release (meaning that there are still aspects of writing and art that may change before we go to print, and the doc does not have copyable text or bookmarks), it offers a strong update as to where Farewell to Arms REDUX is in the creative process. And we still might add more...

A good amount of you have been asking for one, but we do not have a concrete release date at this time. We have a rough ballpark as to when we think we will be done (and the same energy that was put into 'completing' the core book will be put towards the campaign zines and other products), and we are aggressively working towards that goal. But fear not! You now hold Farewell to Arms REDUX (or a near-final version of it) in your digital hands.

Keep an eye on your inboxes, as we will be distributing the files through Backerkit. (Psssst, this also means if you haven't pre-ordered your copy yet you can do so to get a look at this thing!)

We want to thank all of you, from the bottom of our hearts, for the continued support and love that you  have shown us. All this would be impossible without you. May this old year fade and the new one find you with the same opportunities you've provided to us. Peace and harmony to everyone in these trying times.

And please don't forget Rule 0 as you dive into the book...
